Coyote (Canis latrans)

This is the race C. l. ochropus, sometimes called the "California Valley Coyote." It is a more golden or ocher color, slightly darker and less gray than other races. It also averages slightly smaller. They remind me of African Jackals and are sometimes called the American Jackal. Coyotes have been increasing in the San Francisco Bay Area in the last decades. They reportedly moved into the City of San Francisco by crossing the Golden Gate Bridge.
Location
Rodeo Lagoon, Marin County, California, USA.
Date taken
19 October 2020
Equipment used
Canon PowerShot SX70 HS
Goodness, imagine seeing one in SF! A lovely portrait, Joseph.

A charming image my friend. Many thanks lad.

I like coyotes. I have been trying to catch a picture of ones that live near us and cross our property, but around here they are VERY careful so apart from with one of the trail cameras at night I have not been successful.
