Crab-like Spiny Orb Weaver
Crab-like Spiny Orb Weaver (Gasteracantha canciriformis: Araneidae) Female. Female carapace 1.0-1.3 cm (0.4-0.5 in) wide with the males being half the size of the female. These little guys come in various colors with various spine ornamentation as well.
Habitat
Floodplain riparian of Carter Creek at ca. 88 m (289 ft) elevation.
Location
The Brazos Center, Bryan, Texas, USA.

An Orb weaver I have never seen and it is so beautiful.

Amazing how the males are so much smaller than the females.
