Crane Hawk (Geranospiza caerulescens subsp. flexipes) Juvenile. Roadside along the Transpanteria Road between South Wild and Porto Jofre, Pantanal, Mato Grosso, Brazil. Pantanal with scattered cerrado (savannah) at ca. 128 m (420 ft) elevation.
Beautiful Hawk capture.
I recently saw a documentary on TV that showed a project to help Jaguar orphans and how difficult it is in general for the species to survive in the Pantanal.
