Crane in Hell (Grus grus)

We had an afternoon flight to the UK, so as the airport is in the same town as our cabin, we drove up to the cabin first to check that the feeders were well filled. Saw this crane in a field at the farm where we turn off into the woods to our cabin. It was still there when we drove out again and hubby stopped for a bit so I could get some shots through the rolled down window.

They're wonderfully elegant birds, aren't they Ann. You're so lucky to have them breeding near you.

As for "Hell", we have a "Dull" and Muick" over here (and I could probably think of a few more if I set my mind to it LOL!

A super picture - thanks lass.

That was a lucky find, Ann. A nicely taken shot.

Lovely Crane portrait, Doc! Always a joy to see and photograph. We saw a family with 2 chicks last weekend.

A great capture of this crane, Ann. A bird I would love to see in the wild. Great caption too. At first I thought you meant the barren field by Hell.
