Cuckoo! Cuckoo!

This is only the 2nd cuckoo I have ever seen, and after flying past the hide, it decided to sit on some fence posts across the reeds from us. It was there for maybe 20 mins, occasionally dropping down into the undergrowth, emerging with a juicy caterpillar.
Habitat
Lakeside reedbed
Location
Rutland Water
Date taken
May 08
Equipment used
Canon 40D 100-400mm
Stunning Pic - i myself have only seen on once
and mistook it for a sparrowhawk at first

When they fly they look so much like a bird of prey. Uncanny. Thanks for the kind words!
