Cuckoo! Cuckoo!

This is only the 2nd cuckoo I have ever seen, and after flying past the hide, it decided to sit on some fence posts across the reeds from us. It was there for maybe 20 mins, occasionally dropping down into the undergrowth, emerging with a juicy caterpillar.

Great picture - it was this time last year I was treated to my 1st sight of a cuckoo. Nearly dark but luckily some fellow birders pointed it out for me. Have to say was very surprised when I did see it - not at all as I imagined, very hawk like.

Heard one this year!! and saw a pair once Peter!! but its great to see an a cracking capture :t::t::t:

I remember when I saw my first cuckoo perched much as yours is I was taken aback...I only ever thought of it as a very familiar sound..never imagined what the bird was like!! :eek!: Nice shot Peter.
