Curlew flypast

One of many curlew at St Mary's yesterday
Location
St Mary's, Whitley Bay
Date taken
4 February 2006
Equipment used
Nikon D70, Sigma 80-400mm OS
Nice flight shot...the wings aren't a problem - it is sharp in the bits that matter!

Thanks everyone!

I'm honestly gobsmacked that anyone would bother to comment on this picture - I thought it was OK, but nothing more than that, and in fact I only posted it to make up the numbers!

;)

I've got a much cleaner/better cropped version on PC at home.

Ton, I wouldn't say that handheld tele is the only way to get flight shots, but I'm certain it's the easiest way.

I wouldn't even have considered trying this when I digiscoped, and I imagine it would be very difficult to do with a tripod-mounted camera unless the photographer was using one of those (expensive!) gimbal tripod heads like a Wimberley, Kirk Cobra or Sidekick or (cheaper) Manfrotto 393.
