Dappled Woody (Columba palumbus)

After the rain had ceased yesterday, I went for a little walk. I decided to have a look at our little wood behind the churchyard. To my horror there were two guys in there with weed-whackers cutting all the undergrowth out. There are some old tombstones that had been covered with brambles etc, and the local council had told these blokes to clean it all up. I said I thought they may have done it before the birds had started breeding, but they said they were only doing what they had been told to do. There was a Robin really going crazy, and the Wrens were none too pleased either. I carried on through the trees, and nothing much at all apart from a few Woodies.
