Dark-eyed Junco (Junco hyemalis)

Backyard birding again today while watch football. I'm not a big football watcher except when it gets to playoffs then I sort of get adicted. But can check feeders for possible photos while watching the game.

Lovely against that pure white snow Ken. I seldom get a chance to get my juncos in a perched position.

Love these birds, beautiful setting for this lovely one, Fab shot gophish o:)o:):t:

Thanks so much for the nice comments.
KC, I know what you mean, the juncos here are usually feeding off the ground or snow but they have been coming to the feeder the last couple days and tend to land in the closeby pine tree before they do. Maybe that is because the Goldfinches and Siskins have been flocking and many of them have been feeding underneath the feeder.

Nice snowy Junco Ken! We had about ten inches of snow from this last storm.

I know what you mean about the AmGos and Siskins feeding under the feeders. I counted fifty birds under just one of the feeders the other day. I've never seen so many birds in here at once. I have not seen too many House Finches however and the ones I have about half of them have that dreaded conjunctivitis. Have you noticed that among the House Finches in your area????

Nice snow bird phish. I really don't want the snow, but would love the chance for some small birds in the snow type photos!

I like the interesting pose that you captured.
