Taken this afternoon - I managed to position myself flat to the ground which made the bird feel safe and allowed me to get reasonably close.

I used evaluative metering and compensated -2/3 stop to increase the shutter speed from f8 @ 1/30 sec to F8 @ 1/45 and hoped for the best. In post processing using Rawshooter I coverted the RAW file to sRGB JPeg and slightly altered the exposure to something resembling what I actually saw.
