Dipper with young

Had a great day yesterday photographing dippers. The day was a bit marred when a dipper returned with a fish. What a photo opportunity! At the critical moment I was assaulted by a dog that stuck its head right between me and the camera with the sole intent of licking me to death...I was unbalanced and went down holding onto my camera...a great dog (A big one too) but a dipstick of an owner who did not see that there was anything untoward.

Well worth a lick by a big dog for this image Adi, super behaviour capture mate...Most mutt owners seem to assume everybody likes dogs I reckon.

What an opportunity to capture such a scene...capturing the fledgling mouth open and wings stopped in motion. You certainly recovered from your doggy interruption! Beautiful.
