Distant Hoopoe (Upupa epops)

Another species that frustrated me somewhat on the trip were the Hoopoes. We saw several, but this was the closest shot I got of one. Behind a gate on a private road, so I couldn't get any closer. A [email protected] shot, but at least it proves I did see at least one and not just that feather on the sandbank island. ;)

Well done Ann, pity regards the access, your bird with crest up too! Bad luck you'll just have to return next year? Tfs

If it's a rare opportunity, no shot is crap if you capture it! Glad you got this one, super job and tfs!

.... well at least you got the picture Ann... more than I have. The first one I saw I didn't have a camera! The others were too distant, even for digiscoping.

At least you managed a photo as well as seeing it, Ann.

Outside of the target species that I completely miss there are always several of these that I see often enough but never see in photo range or not in the open (lol). I know you still enjoyed seeing them. Three grand posts today Doc!!!!!
