Just come back onto the beach after a paddle was a Pied Oystercatcher, one of only two species in Australia (mind we only have one here don't we!!)

beautiful photo of this lovely oystercatcher, Delia, love these handsome waders, looking somehow familiar and yet different, top marks, many tfs!!!
 
This is a brilliant well taken close up Delia. A wonderful shot, well done.
 
Very similar to ours here. I wonder if I'd know them apart if I saw them side by side. I wonder would they know the difference themselves :eek!:
