Diver id? (Gavia sp.)

I know it's a poor shot but it was a long way away! I assumed it was a Great Northern but when I got home and looked at it there seems to be a lot of light colour above the eye and the beak looks very pale, it also appears to be eating a mussel. Possibly a trick of the light. Any suggestions gratefully received.
