Do I hear a plastic bag? (Anas platyrhynchos)

Aug 7 I took a walk along the river bend. There's a park surrounding a sports center there and people often feed the ducks and gulls. It's also a spot where geese occasionally stop on migration and where a flock of Teal spend some of their year. Oh, and Delia, in answer to your question - the sports center was where Cirque de Soleil was going to do their show. Did we walk around there one day en route from the hospital to Goose Park?

Anyway ... I was hoping to see Teal that day, but I guess they were still out of town somewhere tending their ducklings. The Mallards were already back, though. This lady came boldly swimming towards me and perked up her ears when I pulled a small bag of bird seed out of my pocket. I think they recognize the sound of plastic bags ;) She had her clutch in tow. I'll get to them tomorrow.

:-O

Good ears she's got, hasn't she!!

A rather nice looking mum - thanks for showing her to us lAnn.

I don't remember walking from the hospital to Goose Park, only to the cemetery that's near the hospital, as we went there by car both times I think. Remember being stuck in the car park;)

A spectacular close-up of this beautiful mom teaching her ducklings the joys of easy food (lol). Exceptional Doc!
