The Yellow Bird is a small passerine that nests in central Chile and Argentina. populations in
Chile are migratory, arriving in summer to reproduce, disappearing completely in winter from
country.
It measures 12.5 cm and weighs between 7.5–10 g . It has a brown crown, hind neck and back.
olivaceous, the head with rufous tones and a large blackish periocular area. Throat, front neck, chest and
canary yellow abdomen Wings and tail dark brownish. bill and legs black. It is locally common in western Argentina, but rare and local in Chile. the population in Chile would be around 600-700 mature individuals.
