Double-Crested Cormorant
Taken at Lake Merritt (Oakland, CA).

There is a large colony of Double-Crested Cormorants on a series of protected islands on the lake. Large variety of plumage states/colors, all kinds of age groups. Was quite impressive.

Still wish I could get a photo of one with the crests, but in the meantime this soggy, jet black beauty is still quite beautiful.
