Downy Woodpecker (corrected) (Picoides pubescens)

They really enjoy the suet, I have been seeing them all the time now that it is cold.
Habitat
Found in mature woods, small woodlots, wooded parks, and residential areas with large trees.
Location
My Town of Menasha backyard
Date taken
Dec. 4, 2008
Scientific name
Picoides pubescens
Equipment used
Canon Powershot S51S
Nice capture Sherry! (This is a Downy Woodpecker) Notice that the beak is small in relation to the head. Hairy Woodpecker's beaks are almost as long as the depth of the head. Also the black barring on the outer tail feathers is only on the Downys. The Hairy Woodpecker's outer tail feathers are white with no markings.
