Not a particularly good image: head in an inapropriate position; angle is up (a distinct no no); uninspired composition. I don't get many male Downy...

I have met the downy and hairy severaltimes too, and found that they are difficult to shot. Either they are high up of moving very fast in between the branches. I would have been happy to have one like this!
 
I find it to be a very interesting photo Mark. You see the back feather patern and with the position you see the patern under the neck also which is unusual. I think it is a nice shot.
