Downy Woodpecker with young (Picoides pubescens)

The adult (left) was foraging with it's young close behind. I left this dying Red Maple tree in the backyard with them in mind, in the spring the adults were escavating a cavity in this tree but deserted the project . Maybe next year ?

Thankyou KC , I would post more shots if I could only manage to get better shots ! But these two were practically posing right under my nose that day so I had to get out the camera.
