Downy Woodpecker (Picoides pubescens)

Had lots of birds at the feeder this AM so tried to catch a few shots. Had 5 Eastern Bluebirds at one time but by the time I slid the door open to get a shot they had fled. Did catch a couple of small woodpeckers. I really need to take a page from Deanne's book and start working from a blind at the feeder, would get lots more shots.

Lovely shot of this pretty girl!!!! I'm so jealous of your Bluebirds!!!! I so wish I'd get some here but this really isn't good habitat for them.

I heartily recommend getting a blind, You'll love it! I've got mine set up with a small heater and can spend hours out there in the worst weather without freezing. The colder and nastier it is outside the more birds there are in the feeders.....
