Downy woodpecker (Dryobates pubescens)

NOTE: I corrected the identification of this bird, based on the comment below, but I've left my original description.

Turns out it IS a DOWNY woodpecker!

This female (or juvenile) hairy* was getting an evening snack as the sun was heading for the western horizon.
*I looked this bird up on Opus and came to the conclusion that it is a hairy, not a downy, woodpecker. Feel free to let me know if you disagree!

Aha! Good catch, KC! I used those very feathers to ID this bird, thinking that those white feathers identified it as a hairy... but I missed the black spots on them.
