Drongo - 1
Dudhwa National Park

A Lifer ...

Hair-crested Drongo ...
( Dicrurus hottentottus hottentottus )

Could get only
two shots
of this distant bird ...
on a day with poor
visibility due to
fog ...

But considering the
huge level
of controversy
surrounding nomenclature
of this bird ...
... almost a
Taxonomic War ...

and ...
this being
the first shot of
this sub-species ...
as well as ...
first from
India ... in the
BF-Gallery
I feel
rewarded enough
in getting
these two images ...

Indian sub-species has
dark iris ...

( ... second image
I will share, too, as
only four images
have been posted
since Feb. 2009 )

What a great picture - very well done in finding this Lifer Alok.

Many thanks for your information about the Peahen I posted - it's very much appreciated. We generally only see the very colourful males strutting around stately homes!
