Dugite (Pseudonaja affinis)

At the bird bath at Eyre Bird Observatory.
Common in SW Australia the Dugite is one of the more dangerous snakes as it will enter houses, farm buildings etc., in search of Mice. They seem to have a nervous disposition and don't hesitate to 'ave a go' is annoyed. This is a reasonable sized specimen but they do get to over two metres.

Brilliant snake, though I probably would have a different opinion of it if I woke up with one in my bedroom (lol). It appears this one has just had something to eat! Fabulous picture and information Alex!!! TFS!!!
