Dunlin
I reported the noise of cranes in the sky at 7:54pm yesterday. Bird reports today showed many observations and recordings of cranes for Munich and near Munich (1, 75, 300 up to 500 birds). Quite a unique scenario for Munich.

How fabulous about the cranes, JB.

A well detailed study of this dunlin.

:giggle: Guess you will see some soon.
I guess so, but clearly the unusual weather conditions these last weeks influence the birds' behaviour, at least I'm glad you got your first brambling of the season. We also still got loads of swallows here, which I suppose is not so usual in November.

The weather/wind is a dominating factor for their migration behaviour.

Southerly winds are the reason why many cranes left their eastern route (Eastern Europe,Hungary) with a turn to the west (i.e. Bavaria-Munich). Infos from NABU (The Nature And Biodiversity Conservation Union) de.
