I've found it quite hard to digiscope with a small display on my Ihone 5 and bi-focal glasses. I can't tell whether the image is crisp enough at times and the focusing on a Diascope 85 is so fine and precise that by the time things seem right - the bird has flown ! I will say though that the zoom (20-75) on this scope is a beautifully crafted bit of kit.
Always are always a pleasing sight aren't they Ian.
Digiscoping is sure not easy, especially with the wee birds. That's how I started off. I did get some pleasing results with a Nikon Coolpix 4500. But eventually carrying a camera, scope, tripod and bins all became a bit too heavy. So moved on to superzooms.
Mobile phones in those days didn't have a camera. And my current camera just doesn't seem to work on my scope.
Yes, Ian, I concur. Digiscoping, while a great bit of fun, is much more difficult with birds than I expected. Many variables that affect the end result.
Awesome job, in my opinion, on this one, though. It really shows what that Victory is capable of. Your bird knowledge is impressive too. If I did not have the Merlin app, I probably would not have names for around half of what I find lately. LOL.
