Early morning surprise (Piranga ludoviciana)

This male showed up at 5:30 a.m. He looked at us eating breakfast on the other side of the window and then took off. I was hoping he'd return when the sun came up but I haven't seen him since.
Location
Kelseyville, CA.
Date taken

Scientific name
Piranga ludoviciana
Equipment used
Canon 7D Mark II, 100-400 II
A wonderful bit of photography, my friend, and a great narrative to view it by. BTW; thanks for the tip on the Birds Eye View. We've been using these opaque butterfly decals, they work well but have to be replaced every two years it seems. I will look into what you're using.
