Early Purple Orchid - Orchis mascula (Orchis mascula)

Things remain very slow in our part of the world. CEJ and I went today to Eryrys, one of the many villages which claims to be the highest in Wales. Frog Orchids starting to flower (see next image) but the only orchids really in flower are Early Purple Orchids. I know I've posted a couple this year already but this plant was nicely situated with an attractive background.
