Eastern Bluebird, female (Sialia sialis)

This is the female Bluebird who is nesting in one of my boxes. She doesn't give me very many photo-ops, but for good reason: She is busy incubating eggs. I am signed up with Cornell Lab's Project Nestwatch and am checking my boxes in accordance with their rules. The other box has Tree Swallows in it. I expect that the Bluebird eggs may start hatching as early as this weekend.

Excellent capture of this busy mom. I sure hope all the eggs hatch and she rears them to adulthood. The swallows are not a bad concelation prize either (lol). Fantastic KC!!!!
