Eastern Bluebird, juvie

Eastern Bluebird, juvie (Sialia sialis)

Hi everyone, apologies for not uploading photos recently. Four Eastern Bluebird nestlings fledged from one of our boxes on July 22nd, and I started attempting to track them. Although I sighted the mama and some juvies in late August, yesterday was the first time I sighted the papa (exciting story, more in a future post). Yesterday I also saw this juvie (looks male to me) on the fence. He may have been one of our fledglings, or perhaps he fledged from another nest. If he was one of ours, he would have been 11 weeks old at the time of this shot.

Oh he's so cute Adele. Good luck to the wee guy.

A super picture you've taken of him - well done lassie.
A lovely image of this juvie Adele!

It was a record year for my bluebird boxes. 6 broods.
Thanks, Delia and KC. Wonderful to hear about your record year for fostering so many new bluebirds, KC!
