Eastern Bluebird, male (Sialia sialis)

This is the male of the pair of Bluebirds that took over the nest box where the Tree Swallows were. He is getting quite accustomed to me roaming around the yard, refilling the feeders, and taking his picture.

I've had more Bluebirds this year than I have had in the last 10 years.
 
Thanks, everyone! Laruslister, yes, they are very special birds! So glad you saw one over the holiday. And KC, it is so wonderful that your Bluebird population is up so high this year! Such heartening news because we had fewer Bluebirds this spring than last. That's what inspired me to talk my neighbor into mounting a nest box. Hoping that we have more around next spring.
