Eastern Bluebirds (Sialia sialis) (Sialia Sialis)

An Eastern Bluebird Mated Pair. They have a nest going about 40 feet away in a nest box I put up. The female seems quite capable of finding the suet and dried mealworms I put out, but is always willing to take a break when the male flies in with a juicy bug.

Equipment used
Canon 7D Mk II, Canon 100-400 with TC 1.4X.

Somebody is hungry and a beautiful image of parent and child Gerry !!

I guess this is my favorite bird really and I bought new bluebird houses and the houses have been checked but still no bluebirds. I'm still waiting patiently maybe one day soon. Beautiful couple.

A wonderful behavioural shot of this pair, Gerry.

I know the feeling. I put 3 houses out in January 2020. I’d see scouting but no nesting. This year one of the houses got occupants. Maybe the boxes just needed to age and weather.
