Eastern Pondhawk (Erythemis simplicicollis: Libellulidae) female. 3.6-4.8 cm (1.4-1.9 in) long. Perched on Mexican Hate (Ratibida columnifera: Asteraceae).
Habitat
Blackland Prairie vegetation area, elm/oak/juniper woodlands with open areas at ca. 198 m (650 ft) elevation.
Location
Stillhouse Hollow Lake, Dana Peak Park, southwest of Belton, Bell County, Texas, USA.
