Eastern Screech-Owl
This small widespread owl occurs in two distinct color morphs. The most common is gray but some such as this are reddish in color. This is the first red morph screech-owl that I have seen. This is the nominate race "M. a. asio" in which about a third of the adults are red morph. Formerly included with Old World Scops Owls in the genus "Otus."
