Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio glaucus: Papilionidae) female, dark phase. It is interesting that only the female has a dark phase. She is working on elegant zinnia. Wingspan: 8.9-14.0 cm (3.5-5.5 in). Brazos County Arboretum, Bryan, Texas, USA.
Habitat
Planted arboretum with some natives at ca. 99 m (325 ft) elevation.

Looks like your butterfly can just be pulled rightout of the photograph. 3-D it is. Great capturing it floating on thin air.
