Egyptian Goose (Alopochen aegyptiaca)

And is it Egyptian?
I read somewhere that this bird was called Egyptian when the word meant foreign - much as a Muscovy Duck doesn't come from Muscovy.

It's an African introduced species -most probably the name just refers to Egypt (?)
In Dutch he's named Nijlgans: Nijl = river Nile, gans = goose
