Eurasian (Iberian) Jay (Garrulus glandarius fasciatus)

these two, parent and juvenile I assume, were keeping close to a riverside picnic in northern Portugal. This is the ssp fasciatus, which looks different to our local jays in colouration but most notably a more domed head.

The head is very domed, isn't it Max. A super picture you've taken of this young family.

We don't have a picture of this subspecies represented in The Opus, so I'll upload it to the article shortly.
