Eurasian Sparrowhawk
Extremely heavy crop, fairly extreme sharpening. The shutter speed, aperture and ISO make no sense for a flight shot, but I'd been photographing perched Redwings and there was no time to change things when this Sparrowhawk suddenly appeared in the distance.

Deciduous, mixed or coniferous woodland with adjacent open country. In recent years with decreased persecution has become commoner close to human habitation and is now moving into towns. In winter often found far from woodland, hunting along hedgerows in open farmland or in coastal areas (Opus)
