Failed again!

Took this shot of a female Little Ringed Plover earlier in the season.The male turned up a few weeks later and they bred successfully.Sadly the eggs were predated a little while after laying.Last year the poor weather killed the chicks.Makes you think what these birds are up against every year.

She is very pretty and stands out beautifully against the monotone bg - makes her look a bit isolated - rather poignant in the circumstances - superb Mike :t::t::t:
