I had to take a picture of this amazing environment, part of the Laurisilva semi-tropical forest that covers the higher central parts of La Gomera.
The 'trees', which grow to 20 metres or more, are actually Heather, and the only plant life at ground level (and on the trees) is lichen.
It had a magical, fairy forest atmosphere.
