The Forest ... in twilight

A beautiful songster
... and this
quality has led
it to be sought
by pet traders ... and
be kept as a
cage bird ...

... more over it has
been introduced in
many regions of the
world ...

India has 3 subspecies
... one of them
has been elevated
to full species status

This was captured while
we were actively
pursuing a tiger ... so
forgot to do a video

How pretty he is Alok. And a lovely picture you've taken of him my friend.

Can you tell me... do you pronounce this Sharmah or are the 'a's short?

Looking a wee bit chilly in that fluffed up appearance Alok.

Such a colorful bird and so nicely captured in this closeup guy!

Hi Delia ...
'a' ... in Shama is kept short ... just as in 'attention' ... or 'ammo'
Best regards ...

A lovely picture of this fluffy shama. Not shy and very beautiful.
I felt sadness every time I saw wild birds in cages during my journey.
