Feasting Fieldfares

Feasting Fieldfares (Turdus Pilaris)

The birds have been ignoring these fallen apples all winter as they're right next to a very busy pathway but the cold weather has altered all that now.
Location
Burbage Common, Leicestershire, UK
Date taken
March 2nd 2018
Scientific name
Turdus Pilaris
Equipment used
EM1 300mm
A fabulous group shot, Adey, and good to see the windfalls aren't going to waste.

They're certainly losing their shyness in this cold snap, aren't they, Donald with lots turning up in gardens, etc.

The above group is part of a flock of over 50 birds with a few Blackbirds and Chaffinches thrown in for good measure.

Wow! That's a whole lot of Fieldfares and nicely captured amid the apples ;)

I see 19 there.... am I close Adey?

What a great sight to see, even though they blend in so well on the ground there. They're having a right feast, aren't they.

A super picture this - very well done lad.

I had at least 12 in my neighbour's tree this morning, feasting on berries.
