I have a question. Are birds from the Canary Islands really African rather than European? On the BF index the Canary Islands come under Spain which is under Europe. Although they are off the coast of Africa, they are European islands.

I think that they're more African than European. The Canaries are much closer geographically to African mainland than to European mainland. The climate is more African than European. The islands lie on African continental plate.
