Female Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis)

I was posting another Blue Bird today but I'm posting this Cardinal instead. Today I had a Female Cardinal hit the kitchen window and die instantly. I have bought decals for the window but birds have hit it on four different occasions in my 15 years living here and it greatly saddens me. So this is in dedication to that Female Cardinal. This photo was taken right before I went to the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Thats always sad Daniel...Super capture of this Cardinal, good job buddy...I hope you enjoyed the Blue Ridge mountains.

A lovely photo, and I am so sorry to hear that a female cardinal flew into your window. I had that happen a few years ago in the front. A bird ( I think it was a sparrow), flew into the window and landed at my feet near where I was sitting. I gave him a proper burial. I felt it was my duty. Hugs <3
