Female Pochard

Female Pochard

This bird was very close to the hide at Cley so provided a nice little subject for my first test of my digiscoping set up. That, and we weren't sure what she was. I think it is a female pochard (happy to stand corrected).

These are my first shots taken with my new Kowa TS-611 20x w and Olympus C5050 camera. I used Macro, and Programme mode for this shot.

Images do suffer from some vignetting so have been cropped and I have applied auto levels and unsharp mask (amount 160%, Radius 1.5 and Threshold of 0). I would appreciate any thoughts on improving their quality.

Very nice shot! You should be well pleased with this one. Can't help with the id as I don't see many water birds where I live.
