Female Red Winged Blackbird (Agelaius phoeniceus)

I've had the boys here before, but never a female. This is the first female one I have ever managed to get a photo of, so it's a lifer of sorts. Unfortunately it was on "the ugly feeder" and shot through a screened window, hence the fuzzy looking photo and the odd patterning to the background. More of a record shot than anything.

Record shots are great Bill... 'cos it means there's more to come. The really, really important thing is you now know there's a female around.

You got a pretty decent picture of her too... and that's a pretty background with the autumnal colours.
