Female White-tailed kite

Female White-tailed kite (Elanus leucurus)

I got very lucky this spring finding a White-tailed Kite nest. I visited over 2 1/2 weeks. From nestlings to fledglings. The male would deliver food to the female in an air exchange. Female to the nest. At the beginning she would tear apart the vole and distribute. At the end it was a battle between nestlings ending with one swallowing the entire meal. Interestingly, the runt fledged first.
