The orange spot on the neck identifies this as a female.The bird was a long way behind our waterhole and the photo had to be cropped severely,but there is room for it in opus until a better one comes along!
still a beautiful photo of this treecreeper!! When I first saw some of the Australian treecreepers, their resemblance to the unrelated European treecreepers struck me. A nice illustration of adaptive evolution. Many tfs!!
I've been trying to get a photo of our species of treecreeper for ages......if only they would creep instead of sprint up the tree i may have a chance lol.......seeing this makes me more determined.tfs
