Female White-throated Treecreeper
The orange spot on the neck identifies this as a female. The bird was a long way behind our waterhole and the photo had to be cropped severely, but there is room for it in opus until a better one comes along!
Habitat
Rainforest edge
Location
Toowoomba Shire, Queensland
Date taken
27th August 2018
Scientific name
Cormobates leucophaea metastasis
Equipment used
Canon 7D mark II with 100-400mm mark II
still a beautiful photo of this treecreeper!! When I first saw some of the Australian treecreepers, their resemblance to the unrelated European treecreepers struck me. A nice illustration of adaptive evolution. Many tfs!!

I've been trying to get a photo of our species of treecreeper for ages......if only they would creep instead of sprint up the tree i may have a chance lol.......seeing this makes me more determined.tfs

Ooooh!!! Our one is my favourite woodland bird and this one is just gorgeous H&J.

We don't have a female in The Opus, so I'll upload her to the article shortly.

BTW there were a couple of minor spelling errors in the scientific name you used, so I've amended it (after checking with Avibase for alternative spellings) Hope you don't mind my friends.

Many thanks for sharing it with us.

Like the split in the middle between the tree trunk and the dark beautiful backdrop on the left.Nice with the orange spot for identification too . Nice work,H&J.

Nice lighting, Hans. My WTTs always seem to be in the shadows. Tfs.
