Feral Pigeon

Feral Pigeon

I can't seem to find a bird photo to identify this fellow, but it looks like it might belong to the dove family. It is perching on a pipe next to the dam.
Habitat
Bagnell Dam
Location
Missouri
Equipment used
Panasonic FZ18
Looks to me like a feral pigeon, Columba livia, but I could be wrong.

Do these birds change colors throughout the year? The only feral pigeons I had found in photos were gray colored rather than rust colored.

I agree with the others. It's a feral pigeon or rock dove. Brown or rust is just one of the colors that they come in.

You can see a brown one in a picture here.
