feral pigeon (columba livia domestica)

another close-up of one of my garden birds.i happen to love these ones but i do not have as many hanging around just now think there maybe a female sparrowhawk on the prowl.

Two super head shots Mags...The most prominent bird in our garden these & House Sparrows.
 
Great expression and colours, Margaret. The females tend to take Starlings and Blackbirds first, as they're easier to subdue and eat. But any sick or weak Pigeon away from the flock (as you know, the sick ones tend to keep away from the rest to stop from being picked on) will be vulnerable
